If your even some how bothering to read this blog, I am doing something similar that I do in my occasional You Tube videos. Nobody watches those either so nobody watches or reads my work. This format of movie news round of very similar to my favorite You Tube series Collider Movie talk (formally AMC Movie Talk. My first topic of discussion in blog is the third trailer for the second anticipated film of the year Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice. Like how I am being stubborn with Star Wars: The Force Awakens I am even more stubborn over this feature. While I should have not watched this trailer it answered a few questions I have had about the movie. Man of Steel (2013 was not faithful to the cannon of the Superman Mythos.
This second movie is just going places if not all over the place leaving more of a mess than Metropolis at the end of Man of Steel. So Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne meet very formally like they should giving the nature of the two characters. Its very cannon that they first encounter each at what looks like a charity event. Bruce is the big celebrity rolling in the party and Clark Kent is there taking notes and questioning the mysterious nature of this man. This is scene looks like it could be in the comics, and also looks similar to the Worlds Finest Animated feature, and the fan film which had Supes being played by professional bodybuilder who is now rumored to be playing He Man. But I think its just that of rumor. Further to my point and I'm sorry for repeating myself but this scene dose in all respects look cannon not matter how you shed light on it.
I am beating a dead like many comic book readers, and this is where things fall apart. So we see Jessie Eisenberg Lex Luthor which has outraged many fans just like the casting of Ben Affleck. This is where this trailer starts to get a lot of flack. It is now edged and carved in stone more than ever before what this portrayal is going to be like, and it is like the decision to cast this actor fatuous. It is now carved in the heated stone lettering that this performance from Eisenberg is going to be bad and disappoint. Lack luster disappointing, and could hurt the movie even the franchise. I should have not even watched this trailer and have now seen way too much. How many trailers dose this film need to convince people it would be good. Given the forty nine second clip we saw and Supes unmasking Bats as he's chained up by his own task force I would like to just go ahead and put the whole movie together. It was epic clip could be a dream sequence but who knows. Man of Steel we barely got to see Clark Kent's mild mannered side as a Daily Planet Reporter, and the last three minuets of the movie dose not count. More on the Mark Zuckerberg social media tycoon Lex Luthor. Through this awkward Hollywood archetype of social awkwardness you can see tints of evil. Its uncertain if this Lex Luthor was bullied in high school or is just born that way like Bruce Wayne his demons are hidden in plain sight from suspecting public. I can see this movie having enough action to guarantee its success even if its a critical flop. Will the social network Luthor have to replaced in the next film if things do not go right. That's doubtful since Eisenberg Luthor is already in Suicide Squad. If he's really Lex Luthors son given the fact his father had the same name will Bryan Cranston of Jason Statham appear at the end of film and say "Son step aside and let the big boys play." While there at it Christian Bale can also take back the cowl if rumor's are true. Oh and Brandon Routh can take the cape Mon El who's been posing as him this entire time and he can be like "you got my story all wrong step aside." Ok I am just making that up along with Bryan Cranston's Lex. If things really don't work out and Jessie Eisenberg really dose fail they bring in an older more mature actor for what ever DC film Luthor will be in next, and they make pull the old I had to get plastic surgery plot trick. I really A don't like the look of Doomsday, B don't how he's in this movie, and C don't like how they changed the story setting a plot point again since Superman Doomsday animated. So Doomsday is created by The Social Network Lex instead of coming from another planet. Its not only taking too huge a liberty even through this franchise has already taken many through its only just expanding. Its throwing in way too much than what we already need. This Doomsday looks like a cross between the Orcs in Lord of The Rings the horribly animated Ninja Turtles. Gone are his spikes and like how Luthor is like a quick witted Jim Carey Riddler this Doomsday is Batman and Robin (1997) style Bane. And if there going to rush in The Death of Superman Story arc how could this really be the dawn of a Justice League Movie. The biggest mistake of this trailer was Wonder Woman coming into to play with the quarterback and the lineman. They should have just started playing the girls just wanna have fun theme song the minuet she used her shield to deflect that blow. Or maybe Linda Carter should come in and say "Step aside let me handle this" and Gal Gadot turns out not be the real Wonder Woman and she is not at this point. Why is she even wearing his W emblem if she clearly isn't a civilian super hereon, and just armored up to cheerlead for the two big shot athletes in this big homecoming game for The Justice League. Im really having way too much fun with these ideas. Whos side is she on? Whos she fighting for? Why dose Batman keep changing his outfits, and he having nigtmeres about being kindnaped by Super Kal. I mean his S means hope what his symbol stand for?

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Poster and Title Graphics
It's Star Wars mania again! And when I say again I mean for
the third or maybe fourth time. From the rerelease in 1997 to the prequels Star
Wars has always brought in a circus. You can’t get away from it because it is
plastered everywhere you go, and that time has come again. As of 10/19/2015 the
third trailer for the Force Awakens broke the internet. Many questions are
trying to be answered. I myself I’m trying to avoid any spoilers or even behind
the scenes footage. I want to try to bring back the summer of 77 as much as
possible. This Star Wars for the first time in decades has a different
atmosphere being released during Christmas instead of summer. Furthermore the
main tropic I am presenting is new poster for The Force Awakens. We got the
poster as of 10/18/2015 and the trailer as of 10 19/2015 the very year that was
dreamed about in Back to The Future Part II, which as of 10/21/2015 has become
a movie about the past, however that's for another discussion. Few might wonder
why I am talking more about the poster than the much anticipated trailer. A Few
reasons I have in mind. The Star Wars posters have always had lot of accent to
them. The world of Star Wars is so big you can't fit it on one poster. The
poster that's the first official poster for the new Episode VII isn't that
impressive, and doses not really speak with more accent. It looks like the
poster for the last Star Wars to hit theaters Star Wars: The Clone Wars with
washed out with live actors, instead of the cartoon CGI. Why Luke isn’t on the
poster I myself and many have asked. What puzzles me is how simple the title
art is, which leads to my main topic of discussion. The title art graphics are
just in a design that is parallel to what we know, and just overall
lackadaisical. It makes me question how the title is being marketed, and how
both Disney and Abrams are foreseeing this picture. I'm going to get really
silly here for this is a topic of much question for me. It's going to take me
back all that way to the first Star Wars poster, and how the title art was
presented and marketed.
I thought I’d start off this rant with the title card we all know and love.
I thought I’d start off this rant with the title card we all know and love.
In the first installment, but not the first Episode we see a
title art on the first poster that was different from what was presented in the
film’s opening title scroll.
This title card alone is a multimedia franchise not just a film from 1977. This title card alone is a business, and an empire. In 1977 this movie was simply titled Star Wars and nothing else. However this title card wasn't used on the poster as said before.
This is the most iconic movie poster almost of all time, everything
about it screams awesome louder than the lego movie. That same thinner title
art was used on other posters for the 77 film, and I think for
For the second instalment but once again not second episode,
not only is this poster more romantic but features a very different title card.
It’s very loud and bold, and comes right at you with its title; and the word
empire sticks out most of all. This style of title art was however, never used
for any further Star Wars posters. I once saw it used for Attack of Clones on
the back of a trading card I got with Wizard magazine a long time ago but not
so far away. And not to mention for what is shown here.

With the poster for the third installment but not
third episode, the title art is stretched more across the bottom half of the
poster and is placed in two border lines. This style would later become the standard
for the prequels. Bringing all three trilogy posters full circle here, I come
to conclude that there wasn't a very uniform title art in mind for the trilogy
posters. All were meant to look different and not too in sync with each other.
For the 1997 rereleases the posters were much glossy in
light trying to reflect a sort of magic. The tittle art for each poster looked
more in sync this time around. The titled art for the first poster was now more
reminiscence to its opening scroll. A sub title was never added for the first
Star Wars instalment because A, Lucas thought the film would flop, and B, he
thought it would confuse people if this new film in 1977 had a sub tittle. The
Subtitle A New Hope was added to its 1981 rerelease. To confuse fans and spawn
a myth about the prequels. Episodes IV, V, VI were added to the title scrolls. So
the sub title A New Hope was placed under the famous title card, and the title
art for Empire and Jedi was slightly changed and more uniform looking. However
with these 1997 posters I don't think these the next two had Star Wars
stretched across the top. I guess it was pretty self-explanatory at this point.
Another collectors VHS set would be released and look more in sync with the
prequel VHS tapes.

Once the prequels however were released on both VHS and DVD the border displaying Episode One, and such was replaced with just a bigger Star Wars title card with the roman numeral numbers in the back of the title card. This was used for first official DVD release of the original trilogy as well.
Five years later Star Wars The Clone Wars which was an CGI cartoon feature to launch its televised series hit theaters. It's title art used a similar border and bold lettering similar to The Empire Strikes back title art. The design however, is more horizontal unlike the slanted look for Empire Strikes Back.
Now years later as Star Wars The Force Awakens has been thrust into existence we get a title art that looks like it was designed on a regular Mac in maybe ten minutes or less. It appears as if no thought went into the design of the title, and they just slapped it on to the trailer saying here you go. And unlike the prequels it’s not being advertised as Episode VII. The title is now just simply going back to its roots without the word episode or the number in the title. Plain and simple it looks above anything which is unlike the anticipation that is growing for this movie. It now in no way matches up with any of the standards of the modern and pervious Star Wars posters. Put simply it just looks out of place. It would have been fun as a throwback gimmick if they came out with versions of this poster that resemble that of the old school. I'm sure fans will create interesting fan base posters for this film at some point. Once The Force Awakens comes out on DVD. I'm sure it will sync up with all the recent Star Wars DVDs and include its roman numeral. Needless to say that's a long way off.

Fourth time isnt a charm: Fantastic Four reboot fails to launch
I will admit I haven't seen the new Fantastic Four Reboot, or as I call it FanFOURstic. Really that's how its look with the number four in the middle. But I had no reason to see this movie because i was turned off by it from the start. All the fear I had about this movie was right in place, and never did I have a doubt this was a bigger giant disaster than Colossus. You don't even have to see the movie to know its bad. Few film goers are saying its ok as far as summer films go, however that dose not say much. Some say third time is the charm for everything because some events happen in threes. The Fantastic Four reboot starting Miles Teller and Michael B Jordan was an over seas flop loosing the box office throne to Mission Impossible, and coming in the short with just 26.2 million. It was one of the lowest openings ever for a super hero film. Hell that is also the lowest opening for such a film ever in history and for all good reasons. And this isn't the first time The Fantastic Four has had a big screen outing and has failed. Which begs the question what is it about Fantastic Four, The Hulk, and The Punisher that don't translate to cinema.
All franchises I just mentioned has two or three outings for the big screen. Not all comic book characters are meant for the big screen, however sometimes its just the choice of directors and casting and above all the studios. The problem we are facing today with most super hero movies is that the studios are getting way too much control. This was the problem with 2006's Spiderman 3 when Sam Rami was forced by the studios to have Venom be in the story arc when he just wanted to focus on Harry Osborne and The Sandman. You can tell from the minuet The Amazing Spiderman 2 started that it was bunch of different ideas thrown around by Sonny who just could not make up their bloody minds even down to Emma Stones (Gwen Stacy) hairstyle. But what is about Fantastic Four that doesn't work, and can it work as a movie. Punisher is a hard character to relate to not to mention translate into cinema due to the fact he just goes in and shoots people which is not politely correct.
Fantastic Four has a double entrée of science fiction, and super hero action which can prove to be challenging. I think that's why Green Lantern is difficult to translate into a movie f.or that reason alone. In 1978 when Superman: The Movie was the first big blockbuster super hero picture it was at the time just that. The only super hero movie that was fresh in public memory's were Saturday serials, b movies, and The 1968 Adam West Batman movie. It wasn't like today when a super hero picture would come out and many would follow. Like after The Dark Knight Rises, Man of Steel followed a year later. Every comic strip character imaginable was suggested to The Salkind producers and director Richard Donner, and all were turned down and for good reason. Back in those days the timing just wasn't right. Richard Donner took the budget out of control for the ground breaking effects in Superman: The Movie which caused him to be fired and budget cut back for further sequels. It would take another twelve years for the next DC cash cow to spread his wings on the big screen, and some said it wasn't all that perfect. Flawed in many ways Batman 1989 was not as perfect as the first Superman Movie. Flash forward another twelve years later and whole other Super hero cash cow hits the big screen or crawls. Spiderman was a blockbuster successes, however few successful super hero flicks apart from X2 followed.
Rodger Corman who is know to specialize in B movies, and has been a mentor to directors like Steven Spielberg took a stab at turning the first family of superheroes into a motion picture. Marvel did everything in its power to not have this movie released at it worked. The live action Fantastic Four became a myth among super hero fans much like The Star Wars Christmas special, and lost Superman IV footage. But if Hollywood could have just looked at this and learned history would not have to keep repeating itself. Ever since 1961 when Fantastic Four was brought to pencil by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko it always been one of most beloved titles of all time. But with their own number 4 not being their charm when it comes to lights and camera its often hard to believe Fantastic Four was a game changing comic. An important mile stone it will always be but not with the cameras rolling.
Here we go into the age of disappointing super hero movies ranging from Daredevil, Hulk, LXG, Cat Woman, and finally 2005's Fantastic Four. A year after Pixar's The Incredibles another super hero family burst onto the scene. Fantastic Four was a bit un called for in 2005 given we already had Batman Begins. Jessica Alba as beautiful as she is was a horrible choice for Sue Storm because her character doesn't need to be super sexy. The Thing was suppose to look a lot bigger, and the make up wasn't bad, however extra CGI could have made him look better. The 2005 Fantastic Four suffered from cheesy special effects, horrible script writing, and bad casting. Fantastic Four in 2005 was a big disappointment. A sequel was made following up on 2005s F4, however it didn't rewrite the right and wrongs of the first. Hell it was just wrong all together, and didn't bother to write anything.
Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver surfer came was the nail in the coffin for barber shop director Tim Story's super hero franchise. The major disappointments were Colossus being a giant gas cloud, and Silver Surfer just being a dick. But how do you make 2005's Fantastic Four look good. Its simple you reboot the franchise with cheesier special effects and more terrible casting choices.
I mean what can I say about the reboot that hasn't been said. Reid Richards is a young twenty something along with his bride to be. Johnny Storm is adopted, and The Thing looks even worse in CGI. They also got rid of their classic blue costumes, and from what I heard they didn't go by name Fantastic Four. Four just isn't a charm for Fantastic Four, and I think it was because of Fox being involved instead of Marvel leading to these ridiculous decisions. So what is the future given that the comic series has been cancelled due to this movie being made. Marvel should have done what they did in 1994 with the Rodger Corman b flick, and have it not be released in theaters. I just don't think Marvel has that much power over Fox.
The problems that were displayed on the FanFOURstic set are going to talked about for years to come. Josh Trank was a huge ego trip, coming in late, hiding in tents, being stoned day after day. Trank also treated his cast poorly and I can only imagine this being like a high school dram production. There was also almost communication on set, the actor probably new nothing about their characters and the world they lived in. There were reshoots prior to the films release. Not to beat a dead horse here but I do agree with Trank that the studio is the blame. More to the point when a director behaves badly toward his studio and his crew things are not going to turn out well.
The film didn't fulfill director Josh Tanks vision, again given much pressure by studios. Lots of props and set pieces were removed during filming just to save money.
The film is getting panned by movie critics and even Josh Trank him self was certain of the films failure via a tweet on twitter. That post on twitter was said to cost the film money at the box office. I personally given the fact many studios and directors try to go the Christopher Nolan approach, am not a fan of Batman Begins and never was. The Dark Knight was a mater piece don't get me wrong. It was always disappointed with Batman Begins because it just didn't feel like a Batman movie it just felt like a normal movie. The Batman Begins/Dark Knight formula of making super hero's live a dark gritty world is becoming very cliché. This formula is I think is killing the spirit of a lot of comic book movies. And again why did they have to make The Fantastic Four so young? It works for Johnny Storm but it doesn't work for Sue and Reid. The Fantastic Four is one of most influential comic book characters ever created despite their powers really are not that interesting. There are talks of a sequel, however why make a sequel to a movie nobody asked for. And more to the point why make a sequel no body even wants just so they can count their loses.
Marvel can take pieces of turds of turn them into golden. Giving we are living in the golden age of super hero film making they have been making child hood dreams come true. Marvel movies are giving audiences what fans what they have only dreamed of. The heroics we see in movies like The Avengers, Captain America and Guardians of The Galaxy reflects the same dreams presented from movies like Star Wars: IV A New Hope, and the first Superman movie. They put their audiences of color where dreams become reality. Comic book movies need to be free from studios like Sonny and Fox, be let into their own worlds where they can soar higher. I hope to god they don't make a sequel to this reboot. I haven't seen it and I am not paying to see. File torrent anyone? We might need to just accept the 2005 version for what is even through its not perfect. Its the closest we will ever get. Will the fifth time be the charm for the first family of Super Heroes these days it can happen.
All franchises I just mentioned has two or three outings for the big screen. Not all comic book characters are meant for the big screen, however sometimes its just the choice of directors and casting and above all the studios. Power Rangers Vs Zyurangers
I recently purchased The Super Senti Zyuranger complete collection on DVD. It is the first time a home video collection of Zyurangers or even Super Senti had been released in North America. Incase your not familiar with Super Senti or Zyurangers it is the source archive footage where Mighty Morphin Powers Rangers spawned from. The DVD set in not dubbed for such a thing would ruin the authentic nature of Zyurangers. Power Rangers is a stylized martial arts superhero program aimed at children that uses fighting combat, and giant robots to battle Rita Rupulas threats to earth. Rewind one year earlier in 1992 with Zyurangers and you have something that's familiar yet different in many ways. I discovered Zyurangers about five years ago on You Tube. It has answered so many questions I had about Power Rangers as a kid. Zyurangers looked a lot more like a complete show rather than material that's spliced together.
As I am turning 30 in a year I watch and compare both Power Rangers and Zyurangers, I question what I loved so much about Power Rangers. I think Zyurangers has helped me awnser a lot of those questions.
I think what I like about Power Rangers was the sence of wonder that the program had. Like for example I always wondered where the zords went after being used. It was explained by Zordon that they were hidden in volcanos and moutains but it still left me to wonder. You saw the same footage of the zords over and there is a good reason for that. Power Rangers was bigger on technology while Zyurangers focused more on Myth and Fantasy. Power Ranger jumped right to it's technology with the zords despite Zordon and his robot assistant Alpha never taught their young warriors how to operate these zords. Zyurangers on the other hand take its time to develop. The Zyurangers start in hand to hand combat and with weapons. My favorite episode of Zyurangers was the quest they undertook to get the weapons. As I said before the zords at first show Solo, then in the sixth episode the zords come to together. Rita Repulsa was given that name by her western producers obviously because she's repulsive. In Zyurangers Bandora as she's named is more sinister and she gets her powers from Satan. In the Power Rangers universe Zordan and Rita had a conflict which lead Rita to trap Zordon in a time vortex which was why he communicated via tube.
One of my favorite episodes of Zyurangers was where Gekki the red or Tyrano Ranger, the leader of the group finds himself transported to the future with Tokyo destroyed and he finds his comrades burned alive. And in the dusty ruins of Tokyo he finds something he's never seen before and that's what we know here in the west as the megazord buried in the dust.
As I discuss in this article on how Zyurangers answers many questions I always had about Power Rangers. In this episode and a lot of Zyuranger episodes the relationship offered with the zords and the guardian beast is must more intimate, and up close as oppose to power rangers were they just pop out for a few moments. But what Gekki finds in the ruins of Tokyo is Daniujin the great beast god. A better name than mega zord and like the guardian beast when formed together Daidjin still had a personality and acts as a advisor to the Zyurangers. Rita Repulsa was funny and witty her evil pursuits. Yet what I didn't realize until I was older was this wasn't a western actress, and her voice was dubbed. Rita Ruplusa is really Bandora, a singing dancing space witch who hates and despises children and wants them whipped off the earth. There is a reason why Bandora hates children so much.
Bandora was a queen from the prehistoric times who had a son named Kai who was a total dick to the dinosaurs. Bandroa whiped out most of the dinosaurs but was stopped by the guardian beast. Bandora was assisted in becoming a witch with the help of Satan who looked like a madiras nightmare and also later appeared in Power Rangers but not as Satan. The Zyurangers were from five different tribes that each worshiped a different dinosaur. The Zyurangers never wondered Tokyo as ordinary civilians. They wondered around Tokyo in their tribal apparel. With no question in mind the mild mannered power rangers wore the same color clothes everyday. In Zyurangers five tribal warriors sealed Bandora away sending her to the planet Nemesis which in Power Rangers was decribed as the moon despite there being daylight and had puddles recording to the westernized Rita. The Zyurangers were frozen in stasis mirrors from what ever BC until 1992 when astronauts along with two children arrived on the planet nemesis (not the moon.). The astronauts unsealed Bandora (not Rita Repulsa.) Bandora lands her horrible eighties night club in down town Tokoyo cuasing mass hysteria. Hey who wouldn't be frightened, I mean her palace was like Uncle Jessie's smash club, and every cheap sitcom set which involved blue neon lights combined.
In Power Rangers we saw the same morphing sequence over and over again. This was due to the fact that the western actors were in different locations then the ones in Zyurangers. Instead of a giant floating head in a tube, Zyuranges had a more solid mentor a wizard named Barza. Instead of a low budget command center the Zyurangers had a beautiful underground fantasy world. Despite Zyurangers were grounded in the realm of fantasy they had no means of teleportation and used cycles as means to get around. Dose that make sense. I think those cycles were in Power Rangers once. Gene Roddenberry had a similar problem while developing Star Trek. Teleportation needed to be written in to the program due to the fact shuttle crafts being used over and over would create time restraints.
In Power Rangers, their wrist communication watch acts a communicator so Zordon can dispatch his rangers and allow them to teleport to the command center. When needed the Power Rangers would use their communicators to teleport to the command center, and they turn into waves of light each matching their assigned color.
In Zyurangers the gaurdain beast actually talked and often appeared to advise the warriors. On Power Rangers we saw the zords form into the megazord immdeadltlly in the first episode. While I still love Power Rangers certain elements have grown stale on me in my adult years as they would by nature. Why dose it take five people to operrate a giant robot?. I love the fantasey elements you see in Zyurangers because a lot of it its much cooler and makes more sence. (Well apart from the yellow ranger being a boy that is). I like how Zyurangers focuses on more myth and magic than just scifi on a low budget.
Another center piece that was written around each story of Power Rangers was the concept of civil service which would also be demonstrated in Power Rangers PSA. The Zyurangers would get involved would get involved Random children showing up at birthdays, hospitals ect.
As I said before Bandora is much sinister than her western translation. One episode went to much more sinister methods of child torture. Powers Rangers had to take a lot of liberties to make the green with evil mini series watchable for western audiences. Things are more vivid in Japanese children shows such as, occult magic, blood, children being tortured, and most of all death.
A sixth Sentai Ranger had never been introduced in its run, however in Power Rangers it presented not only a new dynamic which was a new hip cool ranger which kids fell in love helping expand the shows popularity getting more kids to watch the show; but brought with it much more conflicts with writing the sixth ranger into the westernized Power Ranger story line.
In Power Ranger Rita for an unexplained reason has a green power coin even through its stated only Zrodan holds the power coins and its origin is never really explained. Good looking good great spirited scrappy (okay I've said enough), Tommy Oliver the new kid catching attention at a karate completion becomes a candidate for Ritas very own Power Ranger. Rita puts Tommy under a spell which overpowers him and he turns into the dick Green Ranger who destroys the command center and the rangers zords. This also might have been one of the first times an American actor put on a ranger suit which was for the command center scene. Tommys spell is later broken and the dick green ranger returns to the lovable cool guy, and joins the other rangers in their battle against Rita. Tommy's and the green rangers introductions was the first step in the on going evolution you would see through out the series.
Power Rangers from its inception was a thirty minuet toy commercial. In Japan each Sentai program was like a circus that would come to town, sell a few toys then pack up and leave. On the very last episode of season one of Power Rangers Rita was suppose to be trapped and the rangers were suppose to go to their senior prom. Possibly Saban was going to use other Sentai footage for a second season but nobody expected Power Rangers to expand in popularity the way it did. I mean the things you see in Power Rangers were never meant for a western audience. Giant monsters, and giant robots, and super hero fighting squads were never a corner stone in the North America, nor so much with its children. One of my favorite episodes from Season One was the episode food fight. Each week producer of Power Rangers would receive footage and would not know what to do. I think the producers had to focus a theme that would center around the stock footage. Like the episode with the pig, make a story that centers around food, and the episode with the clown insert a carnival. (A circus would have made more sense.) In Zyurangers the episode which involves the pig is much different. The pigs eats all the food in Tokyo leaving its citizens to starve. The male yellow Zyuranger Boi be friends a tormented overweight child who's family's love for food brings them together. The pig destroys the family's bound, however it is restored once the monster is defeated. Another favorite monster of mine being the sphinx turns into a human Paul Rubins like riddler who traps children's spirits in trees. Another thing you never see in western television. This is where the beast gods first show up. Gekki finds the dinocystles that free his comrades and form the mega beast god. In Power Rangers I never got the point of the dino crystals. In Power Rangers I don't think there was a story that introduced them. I never even had them as a fricken toy.
The source of Zyurangers power was the dino buckler, instead of the very nighties its morphin time they'd shout dino buckler! Sounds pretty cool I think. In Power Rangers the morphers were the source of their power, and they would hold them up to the sky and summon the aurora of their dinosaur. (Dose that make sense).
As the teenage Power Rangers would participate in civil service to show how they were moral and good hearted the Zyurangers would often get involved with random children in Tokyo. They'd often visit the children in the hospital after the post after math of the a battle. In Power Rangers attacks on Angel Grove are a normal occurrence like any monster attack on Tokyo even if its Godzilla or Bandoras monsters. Both cities in both universes always rebuild in no time.
Bulk and Skull two nighties stereotypical bullies were another corner stone in Power Rangers and the overall real stars of the show at least in the end. Their humiliation provided comic relief for each episodes ending.
Change after change after change would take place in series due stock footage running out or actors not liking their fast food like wages given to them. Both times Tommy came back reprising the green ranger and later taking up the white ranger really helped expand the program. Tommy later took up the leadership role demoting the red ranger despite red is usually the color of leadership. But with Zyurangers it was a different story with a much different green ranger or Green Dragon Ranger in other words. Why was Tommy referred to as dragonzord as opposed to green dragon? (Dose that make sense)?
A gnome who was also from the prehistoric period claims there another Zyuranger in stasis named Buri. Is not under a spell and his action are sought with free will rather than just a spell. Unlike Rita who had the green power suit hidden in a tomb, I think. Dose that make sense. Buri was already wrapped and hidden away in a tomb like a mummy and awakened despite the military like efforts of Barza and his gnome comrade who's also from their same period and assisted the Zyuranger in defeating a monster in a previous episode. Buri is mad claiming that Gekki isn't the true prince of the tribe and are brothers. That's right the red and green rangers are brothers. They were sons of the black knight who was killed in combat who Omoto King killed for adopting Gekki. Buri avenged the death of his evil father. After missing the forming of the Zyurangers Buri goes into stasis hoping to one day get revenge on the Zyurangers. Upon being thrown from Bandoras moon palace, Buri meets clotho the white child like reaper who is the spirit of life. Buri was killed while in statis during the ice age, and the green candle is keeping him alive. Buri must stay in a parnel dimension stay extend his life force, however what ever Buri wishes to leave the candle melts down. Buri still countinues his revenge of the Zyurangers. The megabeast god order Gekki to kill Buri, however Gekki cannot do so. This forms a bound between the two brothers, and Buri loses his desire for revenge. The Zyurangers go unaware to of Buris issue and Buri keep sweeping in the save the Zyurangers at the last minuet. Unlike Tommy who was a vital part the Power Rangers at this point in the original Zyurangers Buri was distant from his comrades. Bandora leans of Buris borrowed time of destroys the parnel dimension of the Zyurangers fail in a quest to save him. Buri however dose save a child who sees in dream as he dreams of arriving to the land of dead. Buri sets out to save the child, and luckily finds him with out much difficult in Tokyo. He lets him ride the Dragon Zord, he eventually get hurts the battle after math and goes the hospital. With little time left Buri gives Gekki his power vest and then begins his decent to the land of the dead. The quest that was originally to save Buri saves the little boys life and Buri leaves earth with a sense of fulfillment.
In Power Rangers to elements presented in Zyurangers with death were a problem in the craft for western children. As said before Tommy is the new kid in angel grove swoops Kimberly off her feat before falling under Ritas spell. Green with Evil was a five episode story arc were the command center was destroyed Tommy total their zords even through they clearly sink into lava. The Ranger later defeat Ritas spell and the prophecy and the sixth Power Rangers in full filled. But Tommy has a different story arc then his eastern counter part. Tommy lives among the ranger as one not to die. So this did creaet a problem of the writing in Power Rangers. The stock footage for the green rangers could not last long, so what were the writer for Power Rangers to do. Power Ranger borrowed the candle from Zyurangers only the candle was draining Tommy's powers. Tommy transfers his Powers over to Jason so Rita cant reclaim them. Tommy then disappears from the show without much explanation to where he went. I always through a Power Rangers went to the Bahamas when they retired.
Zuyrangers had more epic ending with Bandoras son returning and taking over his own mech, not to mention dawning a mega man look. The Zyurangers who on quest to retrieve their guardian beast, they defeat the Kais mech and Kai dies in Bandora arms, and the mega beast god prisons Bandora once again. With their mission complete the Zyuranger leave the newly hatched dinosaurs to some local children. With their mission complete Barza the guardian beast and the Zyurangers go to retire to the land of the gods. In Powers there a two part battle were Goldar pilots cycoplis with Goldar escaping the firing death that Kai was submitted to. The city throws a celebration for the power rangers and all ends well that every episode of Power Rangers. Zordon gives then the choice to remain Power Rangers or return to ordinary citizens. After the footage from Zyurangers ran out of use with Saban Power Rangers still continued due to its un foreseen popularity. New Zyuranger forage was shot for Saban just for Power Rangers. Power Rangers was now a self sustained program which was now no longer mining from Zyurangers. Finally the question on every fans mind was answered which was where their parents were. This left the writer with a perfect story arc where Rita would capture the rangers parents. In exchange the rangers must surrendered their power coins to goldar, however no honesty is held. This was monumental moment as rating soured as every American child's favorite Rangers returned to help. Zordon gave Tommy a boost of power and he returns to help temporarily. Despite his power will eventually die out Tommy still rejoins the team. Power Rangers didn't not have a big finale like Zyurangers and ended on very soft note.
Both Zyurangers and Power Rangers are great but Zyuranger is better and more epic. It dosent make me dislike Power Ranger but opens up the world or both worlds even further. This reason being because I think Power Rangers makes the east and west become one and shared.

Comicons: Comics or just media
On March 28th of this year I attended my seventh comicon at the Emerald City event in Seattle WA. Over the years the vent has grown and grown. Numbers of attendees of cross players fan boys and fan girls have grown since my first experience in 2007. Of course in 2007 we didn't have Game of Thrones as a HBO series, Bad breaking Bad hadn't even aired yet so fandom hadn't quiet exploded. Comicons have always been about more than just comics. They always welcomed Trekies, Star Wars fandom everything SCIFI. True for many years now comicons have become more than just comics, and they have been a huge pop culture media event. I was always skepticle about conventions because I'm not really all for dressing up, and never really liked the idea. Until I went to ECC for the first time in 2008 in hopes to meet Smallvilles Lara Valdermort who cancelled at the last minuet. She's always cancels conventions I wonder why. I read in an article about another Smallville star Erica Durrance that a fan tried to kiss her at a con. ECC has grown in numbers since I went in 2007 and with these numbers massively growing I feel like comicon has becoming lass about comics. I mean go to con to at least in end after meeting the celebrity guest, and awesome cross players to indulge in what the title of the event suggest. My comics are becoming simply a side dish at comicons as cross playing or to make it more simplified sitting around in costumes and mingling ss taking over the medium. Comics themselves are being pushed replaced. This year at ECC I had a tough time finding comics as journeyed through a labyrinth of cross players advertiser and so on exhausting the efforts I set out far. I had fun and this year was a success for ECC but it could have better. There a big difference between comicons now and they were in early 2000's before 2010. The rise of comicons has a lot to with the revenge of the nerds factors, and that has little do with the 1984 film. The real revenge of the nerds has been in our everyday lives, through that were it had its biggest effect. In 2010 everyone ditched to long dead social network Myspace or went for the newly improved Face Book which now had a shared wall in which could see and interact with. Apple had introduced was still on the rise with their products with the IPAD in 2011 and Iphones becoming more popular than ever. You could say that Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg and the most infulencial names in the real revenge of nerds. In with that revenge the names of Steve Jobs and Mark Zukkerberg or just as influential in nerd culture such as Star Wars Video Games, Comicbooks and so forth. Everything about Nerd Culture comes together collectively and at comicons you might not be able to tell the nerd billionaire from the nerd that lives in his parents basement. But why must comicons push comics out. Its like going to a food convention and finding little food. More to the point its like when MTV stopped showing music videos 24/7. Soon they are just going to have to call comicon media con or cross player con. If not those options at least try to keep the comics a float.

Two new pages added
As promised this Monday I have added 2 new pages. In these pages you see Cliff for the first time in his phycical nature practicing king fu. In the script it was originally ti chi but my artist changed it to Kung fu. I was not mad about the chane I think having Cliff practice Kung fu is quite wonderfull. Here you not only see Cliff practicing but you see the small world he's been thrust into. His dad says it only temporary and Cliff only hopes. Cliff is living in the slums of Needle City. It's said to be only a temporary apartment till Cliffs dad gets settled in at his job. You also see the type of people that lurk in these slums. Cliffs is a nice kid who is eager to make friends perhaps too eager. There are some parts of Needle City where you just can't talk to anyone and Cliff learns that that hard way. Many bad people lurk within the shadows of the futuristic Needle City, and some are easier to spot than others. Before Jump Buster takes to the scene Needle City had a much different vigilante on the streets. Cliffs skills in gymnastics martial arts won't save him from this situation. The world of Needle City from the is starting to open up to Cliff in many different ways good and ugly.

He was the most human (A Tribute a Leonard Nimoy
So the most fan boys have feared for many years came true Friday as Leonard Nimoy passed away at age 82. The year 2015 is the year we come to a realization we now live in a world without Spock. I can go on about all the roles Nimoy has played and how he laughted at his fame. But I'd rather talk about how Nimoy meant to fans, and how he stood as an Icon an entertainer and an artist. Through those pointy ears spoke was probably the most human Alien have seen on television. Spock understood the value of friendship and was not afraid to speak his mind. Spock was a charicter that science fiction fans could see them selves in. The words live "long and prosper" meant he so many meanings. Star Trek with all it's social commentary and internectral and polictal social insights taught its audience to better itself . Nimoys Spock inspired generations of Science Fiction fans in many positive and artistic ways. You can see all of this through Nimoyd acting as the Spock through the 79 episodes of the original Star Trek, The six original films and I think most noteablly Star Trek: The Next Genaration Unification Part 2. He played villains as we'll he made The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins he had an episode on The Simpsons. I can go on about many rolesNimoy had protrayed. More noteablly Nimoy was more than an actor. He was an artist and spoken voice and icon. All Star Trek actors have stood out as more than just actors. Nimoy was also a photographer, poet, and director. You see his creativity in any work Nimoy has done. With everything Nimoy did no matter what is what one thing is certain. Nimoy showed us the meaning of what it is to be human.

I am sorry I spaced on the new postings.
I am so so sorry but I broke my promise in regards to me putting out new pages every Monday. My place hadn't been receiving WI FI, and I had been having some rather nasty familly issues these past fees days. I would like to apologize sincerely for the delay. I'm working right to get the new postings.
Power Rangers short film
I've seen a lot of power rangers material pop up over the internet over the years. It's either you love the show or hate. Some could easily agrue about the quality of power rangers and low level production, acting, and special effects seen in the early nighties. For over fifteen years the series was considers a laughting stock and in some eyes still is. Some highly intelligent people might argue that kids that watched power rangers weren't very smart. I beg to differ in many ways but that's not turn Powers Rangers into an intelgence test because that's clearly not what Haim Saban set out to do. With Nerd culture exploding like the Big Bang it's become more than just a theory. Yet one might have many. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, or just Power Rangers has really grown back into a pop culture phenonomen in recent years. Many aspects have from both geek culture nighties nostalgia. I've seen a few powers Rangers sort films pop up over the internet over the years. Fans conventions and comicons have also brought the Power Rangers back into pop culture while some take it more seriously than other thier ability to entertain. Red Rising was a great fan film that poped up on the internet a few years ago. One simply titled Power Rangers which was floating around the internet in either 2012 or 2013 also featured a darker interpretation of the Power Rangers. For reasons which I can't understand it's been taken down, however it featured the coins falling and a green ranger Tommy quoting "there all gone." If any one knows where I can find this short film please direct me to where. But yesterday's online 14 minuet short film has the internet ablaze starring James Van Der Beek and Katie Sackhoff. The movie for me as a fan wasn't the dark Power Rangers interpretation I was looking for. I mean the swearing was a bit out of place along with the serous ruthless tone. It was kinda poorly written and didn't give the gritty Power Rangers us fans had been hoping for. I need to watch it again to really take it all in. Everyone favorite rangers Jason David Frank came spoke out against the short film. He says the franchise should stay strictly for children and I'm not sure if I agree with him despite I love that man to death since he's my biggest child hood idle. But I understand where's he's coming from and how he feels about this franchise. Like the Powers Rangers franchise itself you either love it or you hate it. D

Yet another new Spider-Man
In 2014 some ten years after Spider-Man 2 we got yet a new Amazing Spider-Man 2. Very difficult to roll off the tongue, why not call it Spectalur or Ultimate. I guess they are saving those for other franchises because with Marvel getting back the rights to Spider-man that's where we're going. Amazing Spider Man in 2012 was just uncalled for, mainly because Toby Maguire was still too close in are memories. I've explained why it was Necessary for another Superman despite we got five, and every true Superman fan knows the disaster that were Superman III and IV. And I'll say it again I feel that was enough groundbreaking techlolgy to make an awesome Superman movie but it was never used to its advantage for years. With the Spider Man it was all said and done. They should waited fifteen years for another Spider Man. With Marvel now having a shared universe with The Avengers British actor Andrew Garfield got into the franchise at the wrong time. But to many surprises Amazong Spider Man was good. It had great story structure great charicter we got to see the mechanical web shooters. Emma Stone was fantastic as Gwen Stacy. Andrew Garfiled was a lot more like the original design of Peter Parker by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko being very tall and wirery. As oppose to Toby Maguire being pale pudgy and more like ChrisphereReeves Clark Kent, where he didn't embodie the comic book version who had more of a personality but you just go with it. Toby Maguires Peter Parker a lot more nerdier than the comic book versan as the same with Reeves Superman. I like how the the whole Amazing Spider Man was set in High school and got to see Peter Parker's journey un fold. His relationship with Gwen Stacy as oppose to the usual Marry Jane and I also like how Flash Thompson took a bigger role in movie all help shaping Peter. We'll I first heard of Emma Stond I thought she was going to play Marry Jane due to her red hair. I was surprised to learn that Emma Stone was a natural blonde. She most deffinentlly has the looks for Gwen Stacy she is more than pretty enough for the role. Yet Emma Stones Gwen Stacy had a different attitude, she's more stronger than the way were used to her. Gwen Stacy is the ultimate nerd fantasey girl because she a sweet heart angel with gorgeous looks. She is the nice girl next door and you immediately fall in love with her. Which makes it all show more if bold move to kill her off as it was done in the comics and in the 2014 film sorry to give spoilers. With the sleeper hit Amazing Spider Man was I had no doubt in my mind the next installment would be just as amazing with just as great of characters and story structure. We'll I was dead wrong. I think this was due to the fact the studio couldn't not make up thier bloody mind on to make this move. When I say how to make the film they didn't know how many bloody villains to put in the damn villain and if they should include Marry Jane. I feel they didn't put much though into and like with films like DC comics Green Latern it was more that's do this picture rather than just bloody thinking about the story structure and script. I thought any studio learned from Spider Man 3 not to add so many villains but they didn't. Amazing Spider-Man 2 was all over the place and Gwen who was sporting a more up town hipster style than her traditional style, couldn't make her bloody mind about her reaction ship with Peter. I mean what else can I mention about Amazing 2. The death of Normal Osbourne at the films start, the terrible casting of Harry Oabourne, and his stupid skin mutation. Jammie Fox and electro was not just creepy with obsession with Spider man, but was so cliched and and over all cheesy. Harry Osbourne just wasn't imdimidating or even interesting a villain or a green goblin. They just can't get the green goblin right on screen no matter how many times they try. Gwen Stacy dosent die on the Brooklyn Bridge but in a clock tower as Spidey makes the mistake or releasing his web too soon just like in the comics.
Despite the movies disappointing outcome, like many disapointing super itallments I always hope a sequel will fix the movie rights and wrong and loose ends. Amazing Spider Man 2s un interesting out come just could not generate a sequel. I was looking forward to see how Peter would cope with Gwen's death, and how Marry Jane could come into play seeing who would play her. But the idea with the Gwen Stacy clone come on. It's a shame Garfield is out as Spider Man and we have to see the cycle of the Spider-man franchise yet again repeat itself. With Marvel buying back the rights to Spidey he is now in the same universe as The Avengers. Could we see the new Black Latino Spider Man we don't know but ones things for sure the franchise is a never ending web.
New Aquaman
So I just saw the image posted of the new Aquaman. To be honest I'm not sure what to think. The internet is in a frenzy over who bad sass Jason Momoas Aquaman looks. Me I'm purist so I feel disappointed. Knowing Synder I knew he was going to ditch the blonde hair be uses he didn't care about making Lois Lane a red head. Not to mention Pete Ross a fat red head, and give Smallville a Sears and an I Hop. Not to mention have Jonathan Kent be killed in a twister have Jimmy Olsan be Jenny Olsan have Zod kill Jor El before Krypton blew up. What are getting with Synder is something different from what were expected it off. Not to say that Synder is a bad director however, he deviates far from the source material and has a lot of balls to do so. For years that been techlolgy make superman more powerful and awesome and it was wasted on the bloody Matrix Reloaded. While Henry Cavil surpasses Brandon Routh in every way who got a much different Superman than the one we know. With Dawn of Jutice as I'm going call because Batman V Superman makes no sence. Why not VS or Man of Steel: A Dark Knight. Synder not Warner Brothers can make up thier bloody minds about what movie they are making here. It should focus on the development of Cavils Superman but instead we got 40 damn movies going at once here. People love Games of a Thrones so it's no doubt people will get excited about Jason Momaos Aquaman. Aquaman has been credited as being the lamest super hero. He made a come back in 2006 or was it 2005 on Smallville. He almost got his own series starring a different actor Justin Hartley but the series was a reject but not because it sucked. The pilot titled Marcy Reef was actually very good. Smallvilles interpretation wasn't bad either and Batman Brave the Bold certainly brings some humor and charm to the charicter. Synder dosent care if this Aquaman dosent have blinded hair or orange and green, he simply what the redefine the charicter and in his own. He dosent even care if Lex Luthir is a young internet social media mogul played Jessie Heisenberg. He'll Jessie Heisenberg just wants to get paid. If he can make Jessie Heisenberg frightening as much as he made his Aquaman awesome and bad ass looking than maybe I can find faith in Synder. Not that I don't trust him or that I didn't like Man of Steel. I just wish he'd understand what's he's doing and who's movie he's making.

New pages are coming along nicely
New pages are coming along nicely. It's been a slow prosess for Erik since he was hurt in a car accident awhile back. It's slowed down a lot of the further work for JB. But with his condition has improved and the project is picking up momentum. This is the latest still is being inked. As a writer it's always amazing to see your story's come to life in pictures. It's probably the most exciting part about comic book writing. Things get exciting in these new pages as Cliff gets his power from nuclear orb and his powers begin to manifest. Things only get more exciting as Cliff journey to becoming a super hero continues.

I said I wasn't going to post that new page but I changed my mind at the last minuet. I'm trying to post yet another but torchlight is rebelling against me. I'll do everything I can to new material up. I also still need to figure out and fix the site. Hopefully techlolgy can learn to cooperate with me.
